Jupiter is a dot

Swallowtail Butterfly

Swallowtail Butterfly

I saw lots of neat stuff today, but you’ll have to take my word for it.

First thing this morning, two goldfinches were feeding on the coneflowers, and the nyjer feeder, and the evening primrose.  But I didn’t get a picture and you’ll have to take my word for it.

This afternoon, not one but two swallowtails were fluttering all over the butterfly bush, but I only got a picture of one, so you’ll have to take my word for it.

And this evening I pointed my brand new cheap telescope at a fat bright star in the southeast and it turned into a fat white disc with three tiny dots in a perfect line to its right. Moons! Jupiter! I didn’t even notice the mosquito bites. But I couldn’t even try to take a picture if I wanted, so you’ll have to take my word for it.

Hope you like the butterfly.
