Snow Prevention Mittens

Mitten knitting another mitten
Mitten knittin' mitten

This is what I was knitting while I waited for my car the other day. Mittens. I think this picture captures the more confusing aspects. The needles are going every which way, you’ve lost track of where the yarn is, and you generally feel all thumbs in your work. Even so, one is done, and I just finished the cuff for the second.

Anyway, I want mittens because all this shoveling is destroying my gloves. Besides, if I had something that can stand up to such abuse, that pretty much guarantees I won’t need them. Between that bit of sympathetic magic and the greenery returning all around, I’m finding it really hard to remember that we could still get some serious snow. We could get another April Fool’s blizzard. Nope. Still don’t believe it.

Forget the groundhog. The mittens say spring is coming.
