On letting the cats in from the rain

Now that the hostas have leafed out, the cats have cozy places to shelter from the rain. So I’m glad they can stay relatively dry, but I’m also glad that they get a bit of a “rain shampoo”. Because, that’s the best thing about all this rain: how silky the cats get.

Enjoy the storm

We’ve had two bands of showers pass through so far, and now it’s quiet. There’s a pot of braised short ribs in the oven. Windows are shut. The stray bits outside are collected. We’re just waiting for the real Irene to storm through overnight.
