I remember reading a story back in the late 1970s abbout a guy who couldn’t get things accomplished because there seemed to be no time available. Once he’d finished breakfast, it was time for lunch; once lunch dishes were cleared away it was dinnertime.
In the story he found out that aliens were stealing his “chronons.”
In the story, the aliens stopped stealing his chronons, and he got them back, which gave him more than enough time to get things done.
This was apparently a widely read story, since I recall several people blaming “moby chronon lossage” as the reason they weren’t getting their college homework done.
(You’ll remember “moby lossage” as being a Dungeon / Zork reference).
I wish I could remember the name of the story.
I’ve had days like that. No chronons whatsoever.
