Tomatoes just want to be red

The annual bowl of reddening tomatoes

Right around the beginning of November, I saw the frost written on the ground and cut down the tomato plant, filling this bowl with green tomatoes. The first three red tomatoes I soon removed and ate. And then the next few to turn red. And the next. And now a whole bunch of little green tomatoes are turning red.

I’ve never bothered with those instructions to pack them in a singe layer and wrap them in newspapers or whatever. I don’t even cover them. Once they come inside into a warm kitchen, they turn red. You can’t stop them!
