It looks like it’s time for my annual post about Creeping Buttercups, or Ranunculus repens. They can really take over the place but there are three reasons why I let them:
- Lots of pretty yellow flowers.
- They make a great free groundcover. In selected areas.
- Reason number three, the real reason — bees. Usually I see tiny bees and hover flies, but today I caught a Miner bee foraging in them. I think that’s the first time I’ve see a Miner bee in the flowers and not searching the ground for the next place to build a nest. Hope the buttercups help!
