Hard to believe I only planted apple trees last spring. Both are still scrawny little things, but one tree is bearing fruit already. One beautiful little apple, almost ready to pick.
Trouble is, I could have sworn there were two nearly ripe apples on it a couple days ago. And it’s a McIntosh, so it should be able to get just a bit brighter in that red color. Which means I want to give another day or two. Okay, where’s that mesh bag I was going to cover it with?

In a way, I did pick it today. Something broke the stem, but the bag held it in place. One apple harvested!
