Now what have I learned?

I’m having one of those wake up with a sore throat and head into Chinatown for noodle soup and drowse the rest of the day kind of days. This blog, oddly enough, seems unaffected. People are steadily passing by, looking at the damndest things.

One year in

When I started, I wasn’t sure I would keep this up for a month, let alone a year. I can’t say whether this blog has gotten any better. I find it just as embarrassing to look at yesterday’s post as last year’s. I have found it a useful place to store things like my pizza […]

Off to get a Backson

Since I’ll be in New York this weekend and off the web, I’m currently queueing up posts for the next week. (I love scheduled posts.) Mostly I’m going to get my notes about Guy Gavriel Kay out of my system, even though I’m still not convinced I can properly express my feelings about the books. […]

Minor reading list housekeeping

The flurry of fascinating-sounding books seems to have paused for breath, so I’m sorting out my reading lists. It’s a bit embarrassing to see how many books I wanted to read last year that I still haven’t picked up. Well, I have picked up a couple; I just haven’t finished them. At least I’m nearly […]

July — Go figure

I seem to have settled into a groove. If I could make it through Readercon without missing a day of posting, I think I can keep up this blog. Still, I couldn’t have done it with a scheduled post in reserve. And I wouldn’t have wanted to do it without those nudges of feedback I […]

So It’s July

I like to have at least as much fun as a honeybee with her head buried in a flower. So you can expect this month to be even more disorganized and distracted by the garden. You can definitely expect more pictures. More bees. More syrphid flies. More weeds. Maybe even some flowers.

June in Review

I can’t believe I made to the end of June without skipping a day in the blog. Sorry about writing so much about bees and weeds. There’s so much getting away from me, just in my own backyard. No, I’m not sorry. I like the bees. And the bold chickadee who stared right at me. […]

Readercon Is Coming

My favorite SF convention, Readercon, starts three weeks from tonight. It’s a wonderful little con that focuses on the written work. So it’s full of books, and people talking about books, and people reading books, and of course, the people who write the books.

Closing the 2007 list

Hi, I’m Pam, and I’m a Getting Things Done addict. I just haven’t blogged about it here, as so many others are doing a better job explaining GTD than I could ever do. Instead, I’d like to talk about the things I’m not going to do.
