
Last week, everything was covered in snow, but it didn’t take long for the snow to recede. The first sign was the tips of leaves poking through.

By Christmas Day, you could see the full leaves…of…leeks.

When the rain came, it washed off a little more snow, and covered the leeks with spangles of droplets.

Today was a real scorcher–60 degrees! You can even see ground again! The ground might even be soft enough to harvest a couple. Now’s my chance to find out whether leeks really do get sweeter after a freeze.
