Fruit of weeding

You never know what you’re going to uncover when you finally do some serious weeding. No, I take that back. Mostly you know you’re going to uncover more weeds. Until I found a squash under a pear tree.  Partridges were not involved.

I seem to be creating a cycle of eating winter squash, tossing the seeds into the compost, and procreating more squash.  There’s four or five plants under the tree that I can see. This is, by the way,  the same spot where I found the sleepy squash bees. Probably the same plant. Good work, bees!
