September 4 is my writing anniversary. (Or is it September 3? Shows you how close attention I pay.) It’s now eight years (and running) since my resolve to write every day finally became consecutive. Not this blog, mind you, just trying to write down the stories that go running through my head. So how’s that writing every day thing going?
Just as it took me years before I actually maintained an everyday streak, I’m still struggling to maintain a regular writing time. Although it’s not something you can really declare victory over, I’ve gotten better, so it’s probably not a coincidence that in the last year I finally finished a couple stories I had been polishing over and over and over again.
And I wrote a few new things. And finished them. And submitted them. And collected rejections.
Here’s hoping for next year.
