Ah, well, sometimes socializing trumps blogging. And sometimes socializing involves baked goods. Like maybe … apple doughnut pie!
Not really. This being New England the markets are full of fascinating heirloom apples, including these French ones, Calville Blanc d’Hiver. So I made my first attempt at a Tarte Tatin. So good! So caramelly and appley! Have I mentioned lately that fall is my favorite season in New England?
Looks great, in NYT they also write something about “Jackie’s Polish-style szarlotka “. But I could not find the recipe. I would like to try something with apples, but prefer to have apples in really small pieces.
Applesauce is even easier, and you can’t get the pieces much smaller.;)
