More winter greenery

Young Alpine strawberry plant

Once again the snow has receded, beaten back by savage wind and rain, and more sprouts pop up their greenness. The alpine strawberries have a new outpost.

Centaurea montana (I think)

And in another corner these fuzzy, spoon-shaped leaves are coming up. It always comes up early in spring and I always forget what exactly it’s called. Some kind of bluet, or centaurea, probably C. montana. Eventually it will put out sprays of alien-looking blue flowers. But first we have to get through the next batch and snow, wind, and rain.
