Spring continues to proceed. The sun continues to shine. The first tulips are open, inviting bees to come visit. But do they?
No! There’s a bumblebee buzzing around the yard, but I didn’t see her stop at any of the flowers. Maybe one sip from a grape hyacinth, but that’s about it. She did buzz behind the bushes and near the stone retaining walls. I think she’s looking for a nest. They like abandoned mouse nests, which the cat has kindly attempted to provide. So maybe we’ll be seeing lots of bumblebees soon.
