Buzzapalooza on the goldenrod

While I’ve been reading, all sorts of bees have been busy buzzing at the Goldenrod Buzzapalooza.

I think the little wasp in the second picture is a Potter wasp.

The other is a Thick-Headed fly, which I haven’t seen any of since the last Buzzapalooza in the Virginia Creeper. I’d rather not see too many of them, as their larvae are parasites in bumblebees and other insects. I suppose the bright side is that this means there are lots of bumblebees around. Still…Ugh! is what I say to that.
