Curse you, deadlines!

Curse you, self-imposed deadline, for getting me to work! Here I was all comfy and ready to blow off making serious headway on cleaning up an outline for that silly fairy tale. After all, I hadn’t done anything yet; there was no way I was going to get it done by today. Besides, when I set the deadline for an “outline” I had only a vague idea of what I wanted to put into it. And I kept adding to what I wanted it to be.

But I had set a deadline and posted it. I didn’t want to let it go completely unheeded. Besides, I had been poking at the story. Let’s see what I could do.

And it turned out to be more done than I thought. I worked through about three quarters of it, sketching scenes and putting them into the sorted out stack. Now I might be ready for the next stage only a day late. I just need to be clearer to myself what that next stage is.
