Surviving, thriving, staying aliving

Bleeding Heart that survived a move

Spring continues to reveal more survivors. This mound of Bleeding Heart not only survived being dug up and moved, it’s about twice as big as it was last year.

The pansies that overwintered are thriving, too. But neither of those are all that surprising. The Bleeding Heart only got moved a bit downhill, and pansies usually last a year or two.

But what I never expect and always hope for is that some snapdragons will stay alive. Sometimes one makes it. More often they don’t. This year–score–a few stems of snapdragon hid out amid the daffodils. Maybe the wool carder bee will come back, too.
