Bees and Onions

This is what happens when you let an onion get away with being an onion. It was sprouting and I let it sprout. Then I planted it in the ground, and it was growing and I let it grow. Finally, it sent up a flower shoot and I let it flower.

First I was amazed by how sweet it smells. Lean in close and you smell all the sugars that caramelize when you fry up a nice batch of onions. Now I’m even more amazed by how many bees think so. And wasps. I had no idea onion flowers were so popular!
